A survey by the QCMB in 2010 found that open communication was problematic for maternity care providers. This program aims to implement the WISE guidelines developed by the Centre; refresh the skills of care providers in effective information sharing; and to identify the effectiveness of the program through participant feedback.
The information you provide during the training program will inform refinements to the program, and how the program is disseminated to urban, rural and remote maternity health care facilities throughout Queensland.
An information session run by the clinical facilitator will mark the beginning of the training program. At this time you will be given a copy of this consent form, introductory information, and an opportunity to ask questions. You will also be given a USB bracelet for your computer which will enable you to connect to the training program. The training program will take a maximum of four hours over a four week time period.
You will be free to undertake the training at times and locations of your choice, as long as you have access to an internet-enabled computer. Before commencing the program, you will be asked to complete a pre-program survey. On completion of the program, and approximately three months after completion, you will be invited to complete two short post program surveys to assess the program’s efficacy.
To complete the program, work sequentially through the program, you may save and return to the program as required. To start the program, you can Register here.
